Estacado
Estacado is Sunshine DevCo’s dual-grid power campus on the Llano Estacado in Crosby County, Texas: 250 MW generation blocks of high-plains solar and storage, built beside an operating 345 kV transmission corridor, selling power into both of Texas’s grids: ERCOT and SPP.

Two grids
Texas runs on two power worlds: ERCOT to the south and east, and the Southwest Power Pool across the Panhandle and the plains states. They price separately, peak separately, and need power at different hours. Estacado sits where both are in reach.
Sell to the market that needs it
Two markets mean two prices for the same electron. When one grid is long and the other is short, generation here points at the higher need: energy, capacity, and reliability services on either side.
Reliability both ways
Dispatchable storage and solar at the seam of two grids supports both: firming West Texas supply in ERCOT and serving plains-states demand through SPP. One campus, two systems made stronger.
The wire
The scarce thing in power is not generation, it is delivery. The wire here is already built: a 345 kV corridor three to four miles from the boundary, energized since 2014, with a 765 kV upgrade slated for 2027.
Proven corridor
The corridor was built for exactly this: moving West Texas renewable power to load. It has operated for over a decade, with a documented commercial and regulatory track record.
Second-generation capacity
The 765 kV upgrade slated for 2027 brings next-generation transmission capacity past the front gate, expanding the delivery headroom this campus can grow into.
Interconnection engineering in hand
Interconnection facility engineering for the campus is already drawn, and grid connection work is underway. Documentation sits in the data room.
Fiber rides the same towers
The transmission corridor has carried operating fiber since 2014, with Tier 1 carriers north through Crosbyton and the Lubbock metro to the west. Dallas sits roughly 18 milliseconds away, Albuquerque about 14, and the SPP peering markets 18 to 22. The campus connects where it generates.
The block

Generation here is built the way the platform builds everywhere: standardized 250 MW blocks of high-plains solar firmed by battery storage, added as interconnection and offtake commit. Output is sold through power purchase agreements, hedges, or market dispatch, into ERCOT, SPP, or both.
Solar + storage
The Llano Estacado is elite solar country: high, dry, and clear, with utility-scale wind already spinning across the plains around it. Storage shifts that energy to the hours each market pays for.
For power buyers
Utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, and corporate buyers in either market: blocks here can be contracted whole or in part, with delivery into the grid you serve.
The site
Estacado is high-plains land built for generation: 1,023 acres with a 511-acre expansion parcel, heavy-haul access off US-82 through Crosbyton, sun overhead, and the wire already humming three miles away.
Community
Built with the community, not on it: construction and operations jobs in Crosby County, lease income on working land, new tax base for schools and services, and no strain on local water or local power rates. Those commitments travel with the project.
The name · Estacado
The Llano Estacado, the Staked Plains, took its name from the markers driven to find the way across a land with no landmarks. In 1886, settlers organized Crosby County and chose Estacado as its seat: the Quaker colony where Paris Cox had proven that crops could grow on the high plains everyone else rode past.
We carry the name because the plains never stopped producing: cotton, then cattle, then wind. The stakes that marked the way now carry wire, and the same sun that made the first crops makes power for two grids.
